Engagement photos at Sydney Harbour
Some couples have a way of making a photography session feel less like a photoshoot and more like spending an afternoon with two people who simply love being around each other. Nidhi and Sahil were exactly that.
Having known each other from an early age, their story goes back much further than their engagement. Years of knowing one another, sharing so much in common and growing through different stages of life have created an easy connection between them.
And then there are the smiles.
They smiled and laughed their way through almost the entire session. Their positive energy was infectious, and those natural moments between the two of them quickly became some of my favourite photographs from the day.
For their engagement session, we chose some beautiful locations around Sydney Harbour, beginning at Shark Bay and Nielsen Park before making our way towards Watsons Bay. With the harbour, greenery and Sydney's coastal scenery around us, we had plenty of variety while keeping the afternoon relaxed and natural.
As the light began to soften, we finished our session at Camp Cove Beach, a perfect spot to slow things down and capture the final photographs by the water as the day came to an end.
There was also a small personal connection that made this session particularly special for me. I had worked with Nidhi's father many years ago, long before I knew that one day I'd be photographing his daughter's engagement. Life has a funny way of bringing people back into your path, and it was a privilege to be trusted with capturing this chapter of Nidhi and Sahil's story.
More than anything, this session was about the two of them, their history, their friendship, the way they make each other laugh and the genuine happiness they share.
Congratulations, Nidhi and Sahil. I hope the years ahead bring you just as many smiles as the ones we captured around Sydney Harbour that afternoon.
