Andrew and Alex met in 2018 at a friends birthday celebration. They both didn’t know many people and connected when the party suddenly left, forgetting that Andrew was still in the bathroom. Alex waited for him so he didn’t get left behind. They hadn’t spoken at this point of the night. It was happy accident that she noticed he wasn’t with the party when they left and the rest is history.

He proposed just before Christmas 2019 at a little secluded beach in Port Stephens, where they had gone on their first weekend away shortly after they met.

The first wedding venue they looked at was Watsons Bay Hotel. They fell in love with the fig tree immediately and cancelled all other inspections.
